This excellent film shows how society is really driven in extreme situations. It teaches that the demons are not always on the outside, but on the inside as well. What is more scary? Giant insects and dinosaurs in a mist or born-again christians that turn into preachers? It's a difficult choice...and King's latest novella. now turned film, chooses for you.
I received my first order already today. A rare lettered edition in perfect condition, fairly priced with great shipping. With the outstanding customer service from Larry and Shane, I really don't have a need to shop anywhere else...Thanks!

Horror Mall is fantastic! I bought separately from both Larry and Shane over the years (Bloodletting and Delirium Books) and now that they've joined forces they're unstoppable. Plus, there's no one more trustworthy to send you your books. They know how much they mean to you because they're small press publishers as well. Keep up the good work, guys!
Author: geoff guthrie This is an example of why I support the small press because you will get these interesting little tidbits of writing from your favorite authors that would not appear in mass publication. In this instance we get a comic script by Keene of the first three issues that he wrote for a The Rising comic, which was to be published but fell through. At the end there is accompanying artwork that was done for the first issue, plus some sketches of main characters.
If I like a story, and there are alternative ways of reliving or rereading that story, be it through a movie, comic, audio book, or even critical essays I always find it enjoyable. In this case it’s a script of the first half of The Rising novel, but condensed to comic book form. As expected things are a little more explained and only important scenes are depicted. And there are some differences between this script and the book, but mostly I found it to be truthful to the novel.
The best part of this book is the lengthy introduction that Brian goes through to explain how this project happened, and eventually failed. It’s very educational. I thought for what this book is trying to achieve it succeeded. It’s not for everyone though, if you want some Keene fiction this is not the place to look. But if you like The Rising I don’t see how you wouldn’t enjoy this book.
Author: James Foster This is a book for collectors. First off it is a very thin little volume. Basically included here is the comic that never happened based on The Rising. Also outlines and artwork are included. This one really isn't for the average reader as there isn't much to chew on in terms of story. I enjoyed it quite a bit because i am a Keene collector and thought it was a very neat idea. That being said it won't appeal to everyone. Recommended for the Keene fanatic and those who collect signed/limited editions.
Author: Jack Staynes I'm not a fan of comic books, but I am a fan of Brian Keene and he's a fan of comic books, so I got this by default. Saying that, I don't hate comic books, I mean if I was sitting in a doctors office or an airport or somewhere I had to wait awhile and all there was to read were comic books, I wouldn't freak out or nothing. I'd pick them up have a flick through and read them, but I usually don't go out and buy comic books is all I'm saying. This is a cool book about what might have been. And reading Keene's history about comics and how this book came about was enlightening.
Author: Josef Hernandez I used to be a comic collector and still enjoy them, but I had to make a decision on which hobby to pursue and decided that I enjoy books more than comic books, so I gave them up. Now, I buy this book about the making of (or the death of) a comic book. If you want to just enjoy the stories and not have a peek at the dirty little secrets and the politics behind the curtain, then listen to the great Oz and move along, nothing to see here. If you want an insight into the industry and why you hear those great rumors that never pan out, then dig in. Oh, and there are some great illustrations as well. While I don't collect comics anymore, this book has given me a greater respect for thos publishers that have earned the respect of the creative people that they publish.
