This anthology is a fitting tribute to the life and fiction of Charles Grant who was the genre's biggest proponent of the "quiet horror" style of storytelling. In addition to short stories in the "quiet horror" tradition, there are appreciations, an interview, and bibliography. Beautiful cover art by Alan Clark and interior art from Gahan Wilson, this volume is signed by 30/31 contributors.
I'm really pleased with the customer service at Horror Mall. Along with the fact that I received my books almost before I ordered them...way to go, Horror Mall! I'll be back frequently. Best online shopping experience I've had in a long, long time.

Great site for buying ALL your horror needs. Service standards are second to none, with excellent packaging and lightning quick postage all the time. I won't shop anywhere else.
Author: Geoff aka Gaffa I have the paperback edition of this book that was published here in Australia years ago. I had already read some Gerlach, and when the chance came to get this one, I jumped at it. The Laymon blurb on the front didn't hurt either. Upon reading, I found it to be very Laymonesque in it's style and theme. Fast paced, well thought out and just a damn fine read! Gerlach is the KING of Aussie horror.
Author: Sheri Gambino I have the Australian signed edition and it is awesome! You must order! The sheriff detours people into a world of hell. I don't want to give away anything but this book is shocking!
Author: William C. Rasmussen Steve Gerlach's The Nocturne is a decent read, very Laymonesque, as already stated. A group of disparate people are detoured due to a huge forest fire, get in a wreck, and go through hell from their would-be rescuers. I was intrigued from the get-go, but kind of let down at the end. Nothing is really explained. Also, I believe this was a very early novel from Gerlach, and it appears dated (no cellphones, etc.). In all, a good read, very good production values from CCP, but Gerlach's done better. Recommended.
