Not a fan of t his book, I think it has an interesting idea that is treated in a very flat and unimaginative way. It comes across as just laughable and it feels to me that Sarrantonio isn't even trying to sell this, just letting it lie there on the page and fizzle out.

Horror Mall is wonderful site. It functions like a well-run business should. The customer is obviously very important to Larry and Shane. They respond quickly to questions and the site is designed to easily discovery new items. Everything I've purchased here has arrived in a timely manner, well-packed, and in great condition. And, holy crap, they have layaway! I can finally pick up some books that have been out of reach for me. The selection is great. I'm always discovering new things that I wouldn't have otherwise found. I check in here at least 2-3 times a day. And the forums are a lot of fun, too...

THE BIGHEAD by Edward Lee (Audiobook)
THE BIGHEAD by Edward Lee (Audiobook)

One of the grossest, most extreme novels is now available as an audiobook! Narrated by Mark Justice, Edward Lee's cult classic The Bighead returns.

Rape. Murder. Brain-eating...

THE BIGHEAD

Who is he? What is he? An inbred homicidal pervert? A supernatural psychopath? Who or whatever he is, he's on a roll now, raging out of the Virginia backwoods, and leaving in his wake a trail of blood, guts, and disgust far beyond the limits of your reckoning.

JERRICA

Sex-addict, drug-addict--a woman so far out of control she would make Linda Lovelace look like a schoolmarm. And little does she know, The Bighead is coming...for her.

THE ABBEY

Closed for years, Wroxeter Abbey is back in business, haunted by two nuns...from hell. Erotopathic, clinically demented, gross beyond belief. To the faithful priest, Father Alexander, they will do things that absolutely beggar description...

Never before has a work of fiction dared to delve so deeply into the realms of perversion, sexual dementia, and bad taste.

THE BIGHEAD

He's coming, all right. He's coming for you.

"Edward Lee is to horror novels what Spain and S. Clay Wilson were to Underground Comics over twenty-five years ago--funny, evil, perverse as it is humanly possible to get...and gleefully outrageous about it. I'd say we got us a whole new sub-genre goin' here, boys and girls—splatterspunk!"

JACK KETCHUM, author of Off Season, Offspring, and Joyride

"Never have I been so ashamed of myself for laughing so hard at something so utterly depraved!"

—JOHN MASON SKIPP, co-author of Light at the End, The Bridge, and Animals

"A demented Henry Miller of horror. Sexually revolting, outrageous, disgusting, THE BIGHEAD is the sickest piece of fiction I've ever read!"

DOUGLAS CLEGG, author of Goat Dance, Children's Hour,
and The Halloween Man

"An outrageous, over-the-top gross-out! A must for any reader who thinks s/he's shockproof! Should carry a warning: do not read on a full stomach.... Far and away the grossest novel I've ever read!"

—LUCY TAYLOR, author of The Safety of Unknown Cities,
Close to the Bone, and Dancing With Demons

"The grossest book I've ever read, an all-you-can-stomach fictive fanfare of nonstop perversity, pulp horror themes yanked inside-out with a vengeance, for absolutely shocking entertainment. THE BIGHEAD would make the Marquis de Sade wince!"

—T. WINTER-DAMON, author of Rex Miller: The Complete Revelations

It's really weird, back in the day I heard Mark Justice reading some other tale, I'm not sure what it was called, but way back then I'd mentioned that I'd love to hear him read THE BIGHEAD. Either someone listened to me or the I'm not the only one who thought he could pull it off. What you've got here is one of the cornerstones of Siction read by one of the best Narrators I've ever heard. How he could keep a straight face while reading it I'd love to know.

Mark Justice does a fantastic job reading this book. I found myself laughing at his various "redneck" voices and he does an encellent job keeping the reader into the story. The story isn't too shabby itself. It's a sick, demented, helluva great story!

Author: Kurt Criscione
Mark Justice of Pod of Horror... fame (?) has a fantastic voice and this story is just down right nasty... in that fun Ed Lee way... without giving anything away we open with a couple talking about killing their baby... it goes on from there!

aiiieiieeeee!

I just finished listening to Mark Justice's rendition of Edward Lee's Big Head. I think I may need to wash my brain out.

First, kudos to Mr. Justice who has talent extraordinaire. He made the story come alive in a terrific, but highly dsturbing way.

Not that the text wasn't out and out graphically disturbing. It was unimaginable and nearly indescribable.

I'd heard legends about this book. I went into this wanting to really challenge myself as a reader and chose this to see what I was really made of as a reader of horror.

If you've read the Leisure books, they don't hold a candle (and God forbid what they do with that candle in a Lee book) to Big Head. Mr. Lee pushes the literary envelope until the friction ignites it to ashes. Big Head is beyond graphic. I didn't know that you could write about so many different ways to violate another human being.

However, it's all a veneer. Beneath that splatter-punk gross out, is a deep text which is full of surprises and a mystery that unfolds which is worthy of wading through the gore.

I'm glad I went reader-to-writer with this book.

NOT for everyone, but if you can take it, you should go for it.
