I enjoyed this book... The story was reasonably good, and it was an easy read, taking only a few hours.
Whoever posted the description of this book obviously never read it. It's not about a haunted graveyard, or creatures that go bump in the night. It's about bad people; a vicious family that takes a grudge into the next century.
I'm really pleased with the customer service at Horror Mall. Along with the fact that I received my books almost before I ordered them...way to go, Horror Mall! I'll be back frequently. Best online shopping experience I've had in a long, long time.

Author: Thomas Moran THE BETTER YEAR is thoughtful, intelligent character piece that mingles real-life insecurities and fears with a touch of psychological horror for a deep and thought-invoking read. As the protagonist of this haunting, yet ultimately uplifting little book battles cancer (as well as her mid-life regrets childhood demons) she wages war not just for her life, but for her will to live. The character and her insecurities feel very real, and the horror elements are handled with a subtle, yet effective, touch. A fantastic novella with excellent characterization and a beautiful literary bent to the prose, THE BETTER YEAR is HIGHLY recommended.
Author: glenn smith Believable character in a real-life situation. I truly felt for her. I could envision Life coming along from behind like a playground bully, shoves her face-down to the ground. Life's buddy Time is right behind, steps on her, doesn't break stride or even glance back when he says, "What you expect me to do? Gotta keep movin' forward." But too the gentler sides of Life and Time come through in her childhood remembrances. Even down in the dirt there's still a choice: stay there or get up?
