Steve Gerlach's The Nocturne is a decent read, very Laymonesque, as already stated. A group of disparate people are detoured due to a huge forest fire, get in a wreck, and go through hell from their would-be rescuers. I was intrigued from the get-go, but kind of let down at the end. Nothing is really explained. Also, I believe this was a very early novel from Gerlach, and it appears dated (no cellphones, etc.). In all, a good read, very good production values from CCP, but Gerlach's done...
With all the things these guys have got going on, its a wonder they even have time to sleep. Still, they manage to have the most responsive and most responsible customer service department I have ever had contact with. Kudo's to Shane and everyone else at The Horror Mall.

Horror Mall is fantastic! I bought separately from both Larry and Shane over the years (Bloodletting and Delirium Books) and now that they've joined forces they're unstoppable. Plus, there's no one more trustworthy to send you your books. They know how much they mean to you because they're small press publishers as well. Keep up the good work, guys!
Author: William C. Rasmussen The Butcher of Box Hill/Monstertown is a neat little HC "flipbook" from Bad Moon Press, featuring a short story and a novelette from the writing team of Logan Savile (aka, Brian Logan and Steven Savile). The tales are dryly humorous, which works most of the time. And the short first tale, The Butcher of Box Hill, suffers from its brevity; it appears to be more of a prologue for the second, longer tale, Monstertown, in which more backstory of both the monsters and the main protagonist, JD Enron, is revealed. It's not a bad introduction to the world of Monstertown and one of its former wranglers; I would wager that Logan Savile has a few other tales cooking in this potential series. The flipbook does have a steep price for barely a hundred pages of fiction, the only real downside to this product. Recommended, though, especially if you like traditional horror laced with sarcasm and wit!
