A great read the a good starting place if you want to step into Keene's York County. This book uses an extremely under utilized monster, The Satyr and lays much of the ground work for future Keene releases. His planned Labyrinth series... I consider this and Ghost Walk to be prequels to that work. Great Characters and a gut wrenching finale mark this as one of Keene's best (which will soon be replaced by his next endeavour, each book gets better and better)
I've been very impressed with this site in the month and a half I've been a member. Their prompt attention to customer needs should serve as a business model everywhere. Keep up the good work!
Author: William C. Rasmussen Whooo! What a grim, gritty, violent and disturbing novella. Nate Southard's work, Just Like Hell, is barely eighty pages long and takes place over just a few hours, but dang it packs more chills and emotions into it than fully-fleshed novels five times that length! This horrifying tale of a star high school football player whose gay lifestyle is uncovered by a trio of his football "friends" is one nasty ride, literally and figuratively. When Dillon and his lover are kidnapped by these three players and forced to endure their punishment, things get way out of hand and all hell breaks loose when the tables are turned. This is a tough read, especially when you realize the level of inhumanity that can be meted out on someone by another human being. I highly recommend this work of fiction!!!
Author: geoff guthrie This is the first release by Thunderstorm books, and it’s a good one. This is a novella sized story about a football player who’s gay, who kept it in the closet until his closest friends and teammates find out. And when they do they knock him out, tie him up and throw him in the trunk with his boyfriend for a ride. This is a homophobic horror story of a couple of yahoos from some small town in Indiana who can’t stand that one of their friends has become gay. The story is graphic and hard-core and leads to a brutal ending.
As I was reading this story I was thinking “even though this is fiction, this story has happened to many, many, gay people and could be considered a truthful representation. And if you have the hardcover with the afterword the author himself explains that this book was based off a real life person. It’s a sad but true society we live in and racists and homophobes can bring real life horror to others such as described in this fictional story. This was a great story, it’s fast paced and brutal, I liked it a lot.
