I got to start reading some blurbs. I had no idea that this was the third book featuring Timm Quinn. I just blundered in and picked it up because I thought it was about time I read some Kealan Patrick Burke and this one was by Bloodletting Press. What I have to say is this, in the first couple of pages I knew there was some back story I was missing out on, but as I progressed I got sucked into a story which was very very compelling. Rather than feel like I'd jumped the gun and read somehting...
I've been collecting for many years now and I think I have discovered something new, different and wonderful in the Horror-Mall. I am probably not the easiest customer in the world but both Shane and Larry have always bent over backwards to accomidate my sometimes overwhelming small press addiction. I was even more prompted to write this after I was able to use my reward points to defray the cost of my order... man, I thought this system would not be for me but its beginning to really prove me wrong. There is definitely an upside to this technology. I think Horror-Mall will be around for quite awhile with the amazing attention to detail and discipline these guys have underpinning Horror-Mall's buisiness mode. THANX Shane and Larry - you've made another "Horror-Mall Loyalist" out of me!!!
- Philip Fritz (aka Justin Case)
I'd like to take a moment to thank Shane for his quick responses to a couple of minor problems I had. I love shopping at the Horror Mall because when these little problems crop up (and I do sometimes seem to be a problem magnet) they're taken care of quickly and courteously.
Great Work Guys!
Author: William C. Rasmussen Fresh Blood, featuring three tales from David Alexander, Kelli Dunlap and Bob Freeman, is a mixed bag from Burning Effigy Press. The Dunlap tale is the strongest, showcasing a mother's revenge with a twist you won't see coming. Alexander's tale is bizarre, detailing an adolescent boy discovering he has a hair growing out of his chest...but when he tries to pluck it, he learns it apparently has no end! I couldn't get into Freeman's tale, just not to my taste with its Gothic roots. Overall, not a bad collection of stories for 8 bucks! Recommended!
