A real blast of a read, I flew through it. Gonzalez carried me through the story with an ever developing plot that I couldn't guess the outcome of. There's some ethics here that I found very interesting, about religion and right and wrong. I mean how far would you go to make sure that you and yours stayed safe? I also had a problem with the ending, I feel it was somehow rushed, or going for something that I just didn't get. But still a good solid piece of Gonzalez here.

Where can you get one hell of a novel (yes, that's novel, not novella or short story or chapbook, but a full-length novel) with a brutal yet moving story, realistic and sympathetic characters, guaranteed to be in your top 10 reads of the year, and written by an upcoming and under-recognized author for less than five bucks? Answer: at the Mall by clicking on the link and buying this e-book. For less than the cost of mass market paperback, you will get a great story that plumbs the depths of the human psyche and despair. This book immediately pulled me in and I couldn't quit reading it even though it seemed at times like watching a train wreck. I wanted to look away, but I just had to see what happens next. DeLuca has proven here that she is a author to be reckoned with and it is great to see this book available for more than the lucky 100 Delirium X-series subscribers who first got treated to this story a couple years ago. Do yourself a favor and pick up this book before the word spreads on DeLuca so that you can brag to your friends that you "discovered" this author before she was hot. Then hop over and pick up the TPB of Manhattan Grimoire as well. You won't be disappointed with either.
