this is a geat read... it starts out quirky and then it just slowly pulls you in. Until it gets to the point where you just can't put the book down. I reccomend having free time put aside so that you can read this one in a single sitting. Excellent.

In a peaceful New England village, terror lies lurking beneath the surface...

Phillipsport, Maine seems to be the perfect place for novelist Rick Sychek to settle. A small seaport village, it is quaint and peaceful, just what Rick needs in order to write his next novel.

On his drive into town, Rick runs over what appears to be a large crab in the road. About the size of a common house cat and sporting a segmented tail that resembles the stinger of a scorpion, it is unlike any crustacean he or anybody else in town has seen before. Within the next day the town is besieged by hundreds of the creatures—which Rick calls Clickers due to the sound their claws make as the click together—as they ravage and plunder anything unlucky enough to get in their way.

Hundreds of Clickers beach themselves in a wave of terror that ends in horror and death for some...but it brings the town together collectively in a fight to drive the creatures back. Rick joins his new friends in fighting the creatures only to discover that the Clickers aren’t merely here to ravage and pillage. They are being driven onto the shores of this New England village by instinct. For something is hunting the Clickers. Something far worse than any of them could ever imagine…

Clickers man, what a piece of work. J. F. Gonzalez and Mark Williams do some awesome Crab carnage in this great book. I love the Crabs series by Guy N. Smith but this beats even that. One day an army of Giantt Crabs rises from the deep and marches across a small town in Maine leaving nothing but death and body parts, but that's just the start of it, something is chasing, herding the Clickers and then the real battle begins. Read this one to set you up for the equally awesome CLICKERS II by J. F. Gonzalez and Brian Keene.

This is a great book for fans of nature gone wild. If you like killer bees and army ants and rampaging reptiles, then this book is right up your alley. A hurricane is sweeping up the coastline and the storm is causing a wave of killer crab-like creatures to come to the surface. Or is it the storm that is driving on this army of invertibrate monsters or the mysterious dark beings that also begin to surface. Williams and Gonzalez weave a tale of action and horror as man must face down the forces of nature in the ultimate battle of survival. Very entertaining read. Recommended.
