What an amazing site!
I have been ordering signed and unusual books from Horror Mall for a few months now and have nothing but good things to say about them.
Being English but living in Norway, finding English language books that interest me usually means buying overseas and this is by far the best source that I have come across. Good shipping considering the weight and the service is second to none.
Thanks for everything so far, I look forward to receiving my next box!
Author: David Niall Wilson When Grim's town and life are invaded by a strange young girl with no memory of her past, things start getting weird. Grim has problems of his own, a war over a salvage yard, and all the teenage angst a character could want. As Angel's odd powers, which we never quite get a handle on, make her a local pariah, looking out for her, and for himself, may be more than Grim can handle. As in other books by Brian Knight, the power in this is the young characters and the very real problems they face...recommended.
Author: Josef Hernandez This was my introduction to the writing of Brian Knight and it convinced me to come back for more. A mysterious young girl comes to town suffering for amnesia and the town's trouble seem to amplify. What can a teenage boy do when the town starts to turn agains him and this girl, who he loves? Brian Knights gives the reader a couple of characters to care about and an interesting terror about horrors we know and a few we don't. Recommended.
Author: Thomas Moran I recently discovered the work of Brian Knight with 1200 AM LIVE, and I’ve since been tracking down all of his work. I now consider him to be one of the undiscovered gems of this genre. Therefore, I had very high expectations for BROKEN ANGEL, Mr. Knight’s dark tale of a small town besieged by a supernatural evil. The quality of Brian’s writing is always quite solid, and he always maintains the perfect balance of artful prose and description. What Brian also exhibits with BA is a mastery of the art of storytelling. The story unfolds at breakneck speed with nary a dull moment to be had. Knight deftly breaks each chapter into easily digested episodes that beg the reader to continue, and I easily devoured this one in two sittings. I honestly couldn’t put it down as I wanted—no, NEEDED—to find out what would happen next. The horror in this story is well handled, with the supernatural elements being introduced subtly and naturally. Although there are a couple graphic moments, the violence is presented with restraint and taste. The novel’s biggest asset is perhaps its characters. For the first time in many, many reads, I found that I actually cared for almost all the characters in a book. As the situation worsened, I was rooting for all of them to survive. The story unraveled naturally, with Knight’s beautifully developed (and realistically flawed) characters governing the action. Themes of adolescent alienation and coming-of-age growing pains—and especially a side story involving first love—provide the heart of this piece, and I was favorably reminded of classic King as I read. The ending can certainly be classified tragic, but the downbeat climax was anything but forced. Instead, the characters act realistically, often succumbing to the flaws Knight expertly presented earlier in the story. As the body count rises, you feel the loss as familiar faces are consumed by the downward spiral of events. BROKEN ANGEL is a fantastic read from start to finish As a horror fan, I’m often called upon to defend the genre from people who think that it is all tasteless, uninspired trash. The next time I find myself in this debate, I’m handing that person a copy of BROKEN ANGEL. Easily one of the best horror novels I’ve read in a long time.
Author: Mark Gunnells A friend told me I had to read this book, and I trusted his judgment and read it. And he did not steer me wrong. This novel is terrific. Knight gives us believable characters we grow to care about, and his pacing is perfection. One of the best parts was that at no point did I ever feel like I really knew where the story was going, how it would end, he always kept me guessing. Highly recommended.
