It feels pointless for me to write a review for THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, because if you've found your way to the Horror Mall you must know a thing or two about horror books and I just refuse to believe that if you've found your way here, then you must have read this book. So instead of writing a review, I'll just pretend that I'm paying homage to this book. Back when I first read this book I was still pretty new to the horror scene, new in the fac tthat I'd read a whole bunch of books but they...

With all the things these guys have got going on, its a wonder they even have time to sleep. Still, they manage to have the most responsive and most responsible customer service department I have ever had contact with. Kudo's to Shane and everyone else at The Horror Mall.

This place is the greatest!! I have been collecting small press horror books for a few years now and it was always a pleasure dealing with Shane and Larry at their respective stores. Now you get two of the best in the business under one roof! I cannot wait until they start putting out their Infernal House books. They are going to be true works of art I am sure. Thanks guys!!

APOCALYPSE GREEN by Brian Knight (#1 in the Bloodletting Press Novelette Series)

Bloodletting Press is announcing the first title in our all new Novelette Series called APOCALYPSE GREEN by Brian Knight. Each book in this series will be limited to 300 signed and numbered perfect bound editions and 52 hardcover slipcased lettered editions. (Lettered edition will be shipping in May.)

KG 200 was a secret, specialized branch of the German Luftwaffe formed before World War 2 for espionage and reconnaissance. Though most of the documents detailing their most secret missions were destroyed before allied powers could seize them, some did survive.

One of these missions, code named Apocalypse, was the first known attempt at advanced biological warfare on humans. Though the records of Apocalypse are incomplete, the evidence confirms the horrific effects that Apocalypse had on one small farming village in Poland.

Only now, decades later, is the evidence being released to the public.

This single story chapbook tells the story of Fritz Meyer, a German pilot assigned to drop a mysterious payload on Warsaw just before the start of WW2. He never makes it to Warsaw and the mysterious payload ends up exploding in a small Polish village. Interesting events occur to the villagers as a result of the bombing. A nice little story that merits expansion into a novel. Includes a couple of interior illustrations and very creepy front artwork by Alex McVey. Recommended

Author: Geoff Brown
A very fast paced chapbook that brings home very succinctly the true (or not so true) horrors of war. Told from the perspective of a bomber pilot shot down, this soldier has to face the horror of what he helped to create in a very visceral way. Highly recommend.

Author: geoff guthrie
This story tells of a special German attack against Poland on the day Poland is invaded by the Germans in WWII. But it goes awry when the pilot on this special mission can’t control the Polish bomber and ends up crashing it into a small farm town. Well it wasn’t an ordinary bomb the Germans decided to use, and the poor pilot finds out exactly what happened to the town, where everything has turned green for some reason... This was a good little story, but unfortunately it was too short, it seemed like there could have been something more told. At least that’s what I was grasping for, more content. Regardless it’s a pretty good story, but not great. I’ve read better Knight.

Apocalypse Green by Brian Knight is a nifty little novelette showcasing the author's writing skills and Alex McVey's artistic talent. Protagonist Fritz Meyer, a German bombardier with an unusual payload, learns first-hand the nature of his mission when he is forced to bail out near the village he devastated. He soon thereafter experiences a change-of-heart when he discovers the citizens he injured and killed have a greenish tint or hue to their features. A unique take on a familiar horror trope. Highly recommended for the fiction and artistic pieces!

Author: James Foster
This is a very short little story. It tells of a pilot from Nazi Germany named Fritz Meyer, who is assigned to drop a mysterious bomb. Of course things don't quite work out as they were supposed to and Meyer finds he has to bail out of his plane before he crashes and finds himself near the village. The aftermath of the bombs destruction is immense and it seems to have a strange affect. A greenish hue seems to emcompass the devestation and that is only the beginning. Meyer is a evil little bastard and i enjoyed reading what happens to his character. The biggest problem with the story is that its simply too short and leaves you wanting more which i suppose is ultimately a good thing.

I love World War II horror stories. Yeah I know, as if it weren't bad enough right? But come on, there something about the World War that's interesting. The whole idea of it with both sides going at it and thinking they have the right side? Well the Nazi's have always been portrayed as having an interest in the occult to help them win the war, so you could believe that this little story ain't a whole hell of a lot very far from the truth of something they might have tried. I too would have wished it were a bigger story, that's the problem with short stories... for me if they are good ones I just want them to carry on and one, and for me this was a very good one and I'm just greedy.

Author: David Niall Wilson
This should be a novel, and hopefully it will be one day if the author returns to flesh it out further. It's an interesting take on experimental warfare, and a look through the eyes of a bomber pilot who comes in closer contact with his victims than he's meant to. Despite the trappings of darkness permeating the story (and the people of the village) this story is focused on the characters. Highly recommended.

Author: Josef Hernandez
This is a wicked little story that promises so much more. Don't get me wrong. It's a great story in its own right. This story of a pilot who crashed into a village that has been bombed with the "special" payload he was carrying forces him to face an evil or his own creation. This story explores the evil that lurks inside all men and what happens when they see that evil unleashed upon the world. Don't hesistate to pick up this book. I hope Mr. Knight has an idea in mind to expand upon this story, though, as the only drawback here is that the reader is left feeling that there is so much more to be told.

Author: Kurt Criscione
I support DNW's sentiment... i want much more of this story... it was a great and quick read and i kinda felt like it was just the opening chapters to something much larger. My eye is now firmly on Brian Knight and i await more of his stories...

A very nice looking chap book by Bloodletting Press with fantastic front artwork by Mcvey.
I loved the setting of the story with world war II.
The story is very fast paced and I wish it could have been longer and got a bit more involved with the war and bringing in more zombies!
